The first domain I bought was conquistadores.com, in ‘98. It started out as a couple of static pages, and I later turned it into my first private blog. In 2002, I let it expire, apparently bacause I was getting tired of blogging, writing nothing for nobody. (I still am.) Never made any money off the name, just let it expire. Didn’t put it up for sale on eBay, just let it expire. Soon after that it was bought up by domain squatters, and was offered to the public for $6,000. Nobody has bought it ever since. Recently I’ve requested a price offer, and they responded the price is now $10,000.

I realize now that I should have kept the domain, it’s still a pretty cool name. I probably wouldn’t have made 10K, but a couple of hundred would have been great too. (On top of the money I would have paid for keeping it.)
